This index covers approximately 80% of the total volume of such companies. S&P 500 shares are equal to 505, since the index includes 2 categories of shares for 5 of its companies.
To qualify for the S & P500, a company must meet the following financial criteria:
Market capitalization – 5 billion dollars.
The minimum trading volume is 250,000 shares per month.
